Mary Rolling
Owner / Master Stylist / Aveda Hair Color Educator
A licensed Hairstylist and Colorist for twenty-two years, Mary is
the owner of Athena Salon and Spa and has also worked as a Hair Color
Educator and Trainer for the Aveda Corporation for 12 years.
Mary received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Communications
Department at Florida State University, and a Direct Individual
Study Certificate in Photography from Tallahassee Community College.
Mary developed the Athena Salon and Spa curriculum for the Fall/Winter
and Spring/Summer Collections and Trends, and coordinated the activities
of the Athena Salon and Spa artists who worked with her to create
those collections.
Over the course of her twelve-year association with Aveda, Mary
has provided Hair Color Systems, Hair Color Solutions, and Customized
Hair Coloring Techniques classes for salons throughout Florida,
including Advanced Hair Color classes at the Aveda Institutes in
St. Petersburg and Tallahassee. In addition to her functions as
an Aveda educator, Mary has worked backstage at a number of Aveda
Masters Jams in Minneapolis, St. Petersburg, Miami, and Orlando,
and has worked with industry luminaries including; David Adams,
Anna Karsis, Dereck Scurry, Charlie Morris Price, and the Ray Ciavello
team.
Mary’s drive to provide high quality instruction in the art
of hair coloring is an outgrowth of her dedication to life-long
learning. Her business philosophy is one that promotes individual
growth, while emphasizing teamwork among the talented artists who
comprise Athena Salon and Spa’s dedicated staff.
